Tours for children and school groups  >>>
We offer to an adult publi different guided tours, for groups, along different lines (general, historical, thematic or artistic).
Length of the tour : 1h30 - 2h
Compulsory booking 2 months prior to the visit, by phone, and with a written confirmation.
Entrance fee to the museum: 8 € per pers. / 6 € per pers. for senior (+60) + fixed pride of the conference : 227,24 € (group until 30 pers.).
 
 
General tours :
- Discovery ("parcours découverte"):
Gives you a general view of the Musée de l'Armée collections.
Brief historical background of the Invalides, visit of the ancient weapons and armours collections, then of the rooms dedicated to Napoléon, and finally, visit of the Dome Church, housing the Tomb of the Emperor.
 
- The secret Invalides :
A tour in the heart of the Hôtel National des Invalides, of the Dome Church and of the Soldiers Church, while evoking the architecture, and the life of the 18th century residents.
Places usually closed to the public are also visited: the great reception room, the Ornano reception rooms, the governors crypt, and the Fieschi crypt.
 
 
- Vauban :
Tour entirely dedicated to the Scale-Models Museum.
Historical tours :
- From Bonaparte to Napoléon :
entirely dedicated to Napoleon I, this tour takes place in the Empire rooms of the museum and in the Dome Church. Discovery of Napoléon's personal belongings, evoking the battle man, presenting his juridical and administrative work, and finally, visit of his tomb.
 
 
- Napoléon III, the last glowing embers of the imperial glory :
Visit of the rooms about the 2nd Empire, a time often underrated, with sumptuous uniforms, but also with technical breakthroughs, that announce the evolution in war in the 20th century.
 
 
- Général de Gaulle, World War II :
Global visit of the rooms dedicated to World War II.
Thematic tours :
- The great battles of Napoléon Ist :
Napoléon, the man of war, presented through the prism of strategy and battles. Discovery of military campaigns, from the wars of the Republic (1796) to Waterloo (1815), through the first Empire collections and the study of the Emperor's Tomb.
 
 
- French in the turmoil of war :
Chronological tour evoking the life of French people from 1940 to 1945, insisting on the conflict, fratricidal fights and the resistance.
 
 
- World War II in posters :
This tour allows the public to discover posters, texts and handouts, going together with the life of civilian and military populations, from 1939 to 1945; it also evokes press and radio.
 
 
- Mysteries and Legends of the Invalides :
Mysteries and Legends around the history of the Hôtel National des Invalides : the extraordinary adventures of Napoléon's statue, the mysteries of the Dome construction or the legend of the wooden head resident.
 
 
- History, stories :
France history through the small stories and events that took place in the Hôtel national des Invalides : residents every day life, the image of Napoléon the 1st through the different successive regimes, or the Occupation and the resistance.
 
 
- The Ladies of the Invalides :
Female presencewithin the Hôtel National des Invalides, and through the Army Museum collections, from the Sisters of Charity who looked after the soldiers in the 17th century, to the WWII resistants, including queens and empresses.
 
Artistic tours :
- The Invalides in paintings :
Tour recounting French military history through the most beautiful paintings of the museum, and ending with the discovery of the paintings in the Dome Church, with a dominant religious theme.
